Lucy Noonan

Founder and CEO

Lucy is the founder of Atomic Consultancy and leads on all new enquiries, acting as the first point of contact for business owners considering a sale. With over 25 years’ experience in lettings and estate agency, Lucy has worked with major industry names including Belvoir, LSL, Hunters and The Lomond Group, and has led M&A activity for some of the largest organisations in the sector.

She works closely with clients from the very beginning, taking the time to understand their business, goals, and what a successful outcome looks like for them. At the offer stage, Lucy takes a hands-on role in negotiating and agreeing deals, working with both parties to structure terms that are commercially sound and aligned with her client’s best interests.

Known for her honest, straight-talking approach, Lucy ensures every deal is handled with clarity, confidence, and a strong focus on achieving the right result.

“My background in M&A has given me the opportunity to work closely with business owners through one of the most important decisions they’ll make. Having spent over 25 years in the industry, I’ve seen first-hand how deals can succeed and where they can go wrong.

What I’ve learned is that no two transactions are ever the same. Every business has its own story, and every owner has their own reasons for selling. For me, it’s about understanding that bigger picture and making sure we achieve the right outcome for the individual, not just the deal itself.

That’s why I’ve built Atomic around people, values, and results, combining experience with a genuinely hands-on, honest approach to every transaction.”

Q & A with Lucy

What is your role at Atomic Consultancy? Founder.

What part of the buying or selling process do you support most? Bringing on new clients and brokering the deals.

What do you think sets Atomic Consultancy apart from other brokers? We lead with class, style, empathy and energy. For most of our clients, this is the only time they will ever sell a business, so care, attention, explaining things in language they understand, and driving the best possible deal is key.

What do you enjoy most about working with agency owners? Every deal is different, and I love overcoming challenges. The best part of the job is the thumbs up at the end and seeing a business owner exit and move on to their next chapter.

How would you describe your approach to working with clients? Approachable and friendly, we’re not corporate.

What’s most important to you when handling a deal? Understanding the needs of our client and that isn’t always price. Supporting them through each phase is something I believe sets us apart.

How do you help clients during what can be a stressful process? We warn them about the trigger stress points before they happen. This helps them understand that these moments are a standard part of the transaction.

What’s your go-to way to switch off after work? Gym and plodding (it’s certainly not running!).

What’s your most-used emoji? 💀

If you weren’t doing this job, what would you be doing? Working as a buyer in acquisitions, it’s all I know now after doing it for over 12 years!

Early bird or night owl? Early bird.

Sweet or savoury? Used to be savoury, but now I’m loving chocolate and anything sweet.

If your job had a soundtrack, what song would be on it? The A-Team theme song (1983) all day long!

What’s always on your desk? A picture of the most recent school headshot of my daughter.

What’s your comfort TV show? Miranda!

Dogs or cats (or both)? Both, I have a 16-year-old dog, but I would love a cat.

If you could master one new skill instantly, what would it be? Become a professional dancer.

Laura Cooper

Acquisitions Director

Laura leads on all business valuations and is responsible for preparing companies for market, ensuring they are presented in the strongest possible position to attract serious buyers. With over 15 years’ experience in the property industry, Laura built her career at Hunters Estate Agency, where she worked across a network of over 200 branches, specialising in new launches, acquisitions, and re-sales.

She works closely with business owners to assess performance, identify key value drivers, and package each opportunity professionally and accurately. In addition to valuations, Laura plays a key role in project managing transactions where required, supporting sellers throughout the process to ensure everything runs smoothly from initial preparation through to completion.

Her structured and detail-focused approach gives clients confidence that their business is being handled with care and expertise at every stage.

“Having spent over 15 years in the property sector, I’ve developed a strong understanding of what drives value in a business and how that translates when going to market.

A big part of my role is helping business owners see their business from a buyer’s perspective. Often, the value is there, it just needs to be clearly understood, structured, and presented in the right way.

I enjoy working closely with clients at that early stage, making sure everything is accurate, organised, and positioned properly before going to market. That preparation makes a huge difference, it builds confidence, avoids issues later on, and ultimately puts our clients in a much stronger position when offers start to come in.”
